KING AND HOWARD WOODALL, PARTNERS DOING BUSINESS UNDER THE FIRM NAME OF KING-WOODALL MOTOR SALES, FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF THREE (3) 13 -YARD GAR MOOD LOAD - PACKER BODIES FOR USE IN THE COLLECTION OF GARBAGE IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, FOR THE SUFI OF A22,174.$5; AND ALSO THE BID OF ROAD BUILDERS EQUIP&LENT COMPANY FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF THREE (3) 12 -YARD LEACH BODIES FOR THE SUM OF $20,482.20; PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SAID BIDS ARE ACCEPTED AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAID GARBAGE EQUIPMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution adopted by the Board of Commissioners, bids were requested for the sale to the City of Paducah of packer refuse collection_ trucks to be used .for the collection of garbage in the City of Paducah; and WHEREAS, the bids of Twelfth Street Garage, Road Builders Equipment Company, Taylor -Wilson Chevrolet Company, Babb-P4otors, Krug -Thomas Truck and Tractor Company and King -Woodall Motor Sales were submitted and after j being given consideration it has been determined that the bids of James E. King and Howard Woodall, doing business under the firm name of King - Woodall Motor Sales and Road Builders Equipment Company are the lowest and best that have been submitted; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the bid of James E. King and Howard Woodall, doing business under the firm name of king -Woodall Motor Sales, for the sale to the City of. Paducah of three (3) 13 -yard Gar Wood Load -Packer bodies, each mounted on 1953.GMC 454-30 chassis under the terms and conditions as hereinafter set out, and also the bid of Road Builders Equipment Company for the sale to the City of Paducah of three (3) 12 -yard Leach bodies, two each mounted on new Nodel L-182 International chassis and one on a new Model LC -182 International chassis, be and the same are hereby accepted on the terms and conditions herein set out. SECTION 2. The total price to be paid for said three (3) vehicles from King -Woodall Motor Sales shall be '022,174.$5, broken down as follows: '07,140.36 for each of said vehicles; x25.00 each for lettered sign reading "City of Paducah, Lets Keep Paducah Clean" or a similar sign; $115.35 for each of said vehicles for optional tires size 9.00x20- 10 ply; 332.72 additional for one of said vehicles so as to provide a cab -over engine chassis. All of said trucks (bodies and chassis) shall meet all the specifications, warranties and guarantees set forth in the bids submitted, by this firm, and shall be delivered within 30 clays from the date on which a contract is entered into. Prices are f.o.b.,City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky. 1001 SECTION 3. The total price to be paid for said three (3) vehicles from Road Builders Equipment Company shall be 20,482.20 broken down as follows: ;6,818.10 for each of two of said v hicles with Model L-1$2 chassis; $6,846.10 for one of said vehicles with Model LC -182 (cab -over engine); said prices include sign lettering as in Section 2 herein. Prices are f.o.b. City Hall, Paducah. Each of said three (3) trucks (body and chassis) shall meet all of the specifications, warranties and I� guarantees set forth in the bids submitted by this company; and shall be delivered within 30 days from the date on which'a contract is entered into. SECTION 4. That Robert C. Cherry, the'Mayor, is hereby authorized to enter into a contract providing for the purchase of -said garbage trucks upon the terms•and conditions set forth herein, and'upon such other terms and conditions as the City Manager'and'the Corporation Counsel'map require for the proiection'of the interest'of the City of Paducah, and the City shall not become obligated until a contract has been entered into: SECTION 5.' The sums'to be paid as herein provided'6a11 be paid from funds appropriated- to Account Number 6591. SECTION'6. All ordinances, or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed. SECTION 7. This ordinance'shall be introduced at a regular meeting of the Boaid'of Commissioners and shall remain on file one week for public inspection"in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. ns the'City of Paducah presently has no system or facilities for the collection of grabage and it is imperative that the necessary equipment be'immediately provided in'order-to preserve and protect the public health, safety and, -welfare of its citizens, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. itayor `�— Introduced by the Board of Commiasioners,•December 9,•1952 .
