That the City 14anager be, and he is hereby authorized and empowered to advertise for rids for the purchase of 100 additional parkin_ meters to be installed in the business district and on the streets and in the blocks to be hereafter desiC.nated by the Loard of Commissioners. Lidders shall submit in writing their offers stating the purchase price for each meter which shall be so operated as to permit 103al parking for a period of twelve (12) minutes for each lf/, deposited, one hour for each 5X deposited, and each meter shall be so constructed as to allow a total legal parking time of two hours. For the purchase price stated in the bid the successful bidder shall also be required to install the meters without expense to the city, and one-half of the receipts from the operation of said meters shall be paid to the successful bidder until the entire purchase price for X11 meters has been paid. Provided, however, it shall be understood and agreed that the city shall retain for the purpose of defraying the cost of maintenance and repair work, the sum of 25/ per month for each meter which is to be purchased. SEC TION 2. The City-Vanager shall advertise for the purchase and install ation of said maters b;; postin;� up a notice at the City Hall Door and by inserting a notico of the request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat. The novice shall be posted and oubl ish d for at least.seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and the bids shall not be opened :within ten (10) days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids re- ceived by the City Llanager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shakk be filed with the Loard of Comm- issioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The ri,_.ht to reject any and all bids is reserved and the City of Paducah shall not become legally liable to purchase said meters until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. 74 SEC TIOr: 2.
