JACX3ON TO JONES STREETS FOR BUSINESS PURPOSES, AND PRESCRIBING THE PENALTY TO BE IMFOSED FOR VIOLATION OF THE RESTRICTIONS SET FORTH IN A RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY THE CITt PLANNING AND ZONING COIMISSION ON JUNE 22, 1949. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COTdi:1I3SI0I1TERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUC=: SECTION 1. That upon the recommendation and request of the City Plannin-- and Zoning Commission as shoran by its final report embodied in a resolution adopted by it on June 22, 1949, the nest side of 6th street from Jackson to Jones streets, back for depth to the center of the block between 6th and 7th streets is hereby declared to be a business district within the meaning of the City Planning and Zoning Commission La,v. SECTION 2. In order to further promote the general �,:el of the people in said district or zone and to enhance the desirabil of same, all property within said area is subject to the following restrictions: 1. That no business buildinj be pormitted to be constructed on any lot in said area that will cost less than ;10,000. 2. That no building permit be issued by the Building Inspector within the boundaries of the district described above until the plans of said building be submitted to and approved by the City Planning and Zoning Board. SECTION 3. Any property owner, tenant or other person who erects, constructs or reconstructs any building in violation of or contrary to the aforesaid provisions of this ordinance, shall be deemed guilt;; of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not less than 5710.00 nor more thah `;100.00 for each offense so committed and each day such offense is committf shall be deemed a separate offense and shall be subject to a separate penalty under the provisions hereof, or the person so offending or so guilty of violation of the provisions hereof, may in addition to such fine be imprisoned not more than fifty (50) days at the discretion of the Judge or Jury trying the case. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
