HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 11, Page 690, No Ordinance Number690 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CLOSING OF THAT PORTION OF OHIO STREET FROM 25TH STREET TO 29TH STREET WHICH EXTENDS FROM THE PROPERTY OWNERS LINE ON EACH SIDE OF SAID 90 FOOT STREET A DISTANCE OF 12 FEET TOWARD THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET TO THE REVISED PROPERTY LINE OF A 66'FOOT STREET; AND AUTHORIZING THE CORPORATION COUNSEL TO INSTITUTE IN THE MCCRACKEN CIRCUIT COURT A SUIT FOR THE PURPOSE OF HAVING THAT PORTION OF SAID STREET CLOSED BY A NDGTJENT OF SAID COURT WHEREAS, Ohio Street from 25th street to 29th street was originally dedicated as a 66 foot street and leter re- dedicated as a 90 foot street by an additional width of 12 feet on either side from 25th street to 29th street; and WHEREAS, said additional 12 feet has never been used and is not now needed for street purposes; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMM- ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That all of that portion of Ohio Street from 25th street to 29th Street which extends from the property owners line on each side of said 90 foot street a distance of 12 feet toward the middle of the street to the revised property line of a 66 foot street, be, and the same is hereby ordered to be closed; that said property revert back to the owners of the property abutting upon said street; and that the Corporation Counsel is hereby authorized and directed to institute in the McCracken Circuit Court a suit for the purpose of carrying the provisions of this ordinance into effect.
