HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 11, Page 686, No Ordinance Number686✓/ AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED FROM JAMES G. WHEELER, EXECUTOR OF THE ESTATE OF MAMIE K. WHEELER, DECEASED, CONVEYING TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH A PART OF THE PROPERTY COMPRISING WHAT IS KNOWN AS GUTHRIE PIT; APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF x;•204.71 FOR PAYMENT OF THE PURCHASE PRICE OF SAID LANDS; AND AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $500.00 FROM THE CONTINGENT FUND TO AN ACCOUNT KNOWN AS "REAL ESTATE ACQUISITION" TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR PAYMENT OF THE PUR- CHASE PRICE FOR SAID LANDS AND FOR OTHER REAL ESTATE ACQUISITION; AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PROPERTY SHALL BE TRANSFERRED BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENT U CKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept, subject to the c ditions hereinafter provided, the offer of James G. Wheeler, Execu for of the Estate of Mamie K. 1;1heeler, deceased, to convey to the city by deed the westerly portion of that property comprising the Pit in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, the same being in the block bounded on the south by Guthrie Avenue, on the north by 16th Stree on the east by A Street, on the West by B street, and as said trac of land is more particularly identified by that area shaded in black and embraced within the red lines as shown on the plat entitled "Proposed Dumping Area fG1 " which is filed herewith and as a part of this ordinance, together with the two strips of land the northerly side of said Guthrie Pit, the same being more partic ularly identified on the aforesaid plat by reference to that area which is also enclosed in red and identified by the words "Propose 501 St." and "Alley." That the City of Paducah pay for the purchase of the above described lands the sum of $204.71, and that the aforesaid deed be accepted upon the condition that the said James G. Wheeler, as Exe utor of the estate of Mamie K. Wheeler, deceased, apply the entire purchase price in satisfaction of the delinquent city taxes agains said Guthrie Pit property, as well as the delinquent city taxes assessed against the remainder of the property owned by said decedents estate located on the northerly side of the property to be conveyed by the aforesaid deed. SECTION 2. For the purpose of providing funds for payment of the purchase price for the above described property, as well as for use when other real estate is acquired during the year 1949, there is hereby transferred from the Contingent Fund the sum of $500.00 to a new account to be known as "Real Estate Acquisition Account. No. 7700," and the City Clerk is hereby authorized to thrie 687 cause to be published in the Paducah Sun Democrat a notice of the introduction of this ordinance and the proposal to make the afore- said transfer of funds, said notice to be published at least one week before this ordinance shall be put upon its final passage. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect �i from and after its adoption.
