A RESOLUTION REQUE3TING TIE U. 3. ENGINEERS TO INSTALL
A PUMPING PLANT FOR THE PURPO,E OF DRAINING RAIU NATER VIaICH
ACCU14MATES IN DRAINAGE SUB -AREA "O-1" OF DRAINAGE AREA "0"
WHICH HAS BEEN CAUSED tr THE CONSTRUCT., ON OF THE FLOOD

VIHEREAS, the accumulation of ~rater which has been
caused by the construction of the flood protection wall in that
section of the City of Paducah referred to as Drainage Sub -Area
"C-1" of Drainage area "0" constitutes a nuisance and a menace
to the property and health of some two thousand residents of the
City in that area; and
'wUHEREAS, the residents of the area affected are insisting
that adeouate drainage facilities be provided with as little
delay as possible; and
WHEREAS, the layinS of a 66" corrugated iron pipe in
Section "B" of the floodwall, Unit 1, at Station 19/11 will
be sufficient to provide an adequate outlet for water and
thereby abate the nuisance which is now being caused by the
storage of water in a large area in the vicinity of the flood -
wall;
NOW R':i;'REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the City of Paducah
urge the U. 3. Engineers to install a pumping plant to drain
the rain water now being stored in Draihage Sub -Area "0-1" of
Drainage Prea "0", and thereby provide adequare drainage facilities
for the puorpose of removing the nuisance which now threatens the
health and property of the residents affected in that area by reason
of the accumulation of water.
BE IT FURT11ER RE30LVED That the U. S. Engineers be called
upon to immediately make an inspection of the area affected and
to remedy the condition which was caused by the construction of the
floodwall without providing an adequare outlet for water which
accumulates in that area.
