T FORTH THEREIN BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF ADUCAH, KENTUCKY: ` SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby author i or and on behalf of the City of Paducah, to enter into a contract th the Mid-continent Petroleum Corporation for the purchase of -X Ethyl gasoline at posted tank wagon price at time of delivery ess discount of 1/2� per gallon and less Federal Tax of l,,!— per allon, but in no event shall net price exceed .231¢ per gallon, lso for the purchase of First Grade Motor Oil, Diamond SAE Grades 0-30-40-50-60 at 49� per gallon (in 55-0al. drums) exclusive of Federal excise tax; also to enter into a contract with the Standard Oil Company for the purchase of Kjso Diesel Lube TID Idotor (Detergent) at 57� per gallon exclusive of Federal tax in drum ts; said gasoline and oil to be purchased upon the order of the Ci f Paducah for use in governmental operations for a period of our (4) months beginning January 1, 1949, and upon the terms and onditions set forth in the written bid of each company received nd filed by the Board of Commissioners on Decemher 28, 1948, aid terms and conditions as set forth in said bids being referred and made a part of this ordinance to the same extent as if ly copied herein. SECTION 2. The contracts under which said gasoline and oil be purchased shall fully provide that in the event of a decline in the retail price of said products at any time during said period, the City shall be given the benefit of the reduction in price, and the City Manager shall include in said contract such additional terms and conditions as may be necessary to protect the interests of the City of Paducah. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file at least one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. As the various departments of the City must ve immediately ied with gasoline and oil for the protection of the public lth, safety and welfare, an emergency is hereby declared to TS 0 by 11 627 lexist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from Land after its adoption.
