10A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CHANGE OF THE NAME OF THE
PADUCAH-McCRACKEN COUNTY AIRPORT TO THE "BARKLEY AIRPORT", AND
URGING THE COUNTY JUDGE AND THE MEMBERS OF TiE FISCAL COURT OF Mc
CRACKEN COUNTY KENTUCKY TO ALSO GIVE THEIR APPROVAL TO THE CHANGE
IN THE NAME OF SAID AIRPORT
WHEREAS, In recognition of the fine statesmanship of
Serf tdi-"Alben"We,Barkley, the next Vice -President of the United
States, the high esteem in which he is held by the citizens of
Paducah and McCracken County, and his loyalty as a servant to the
people of this section for so many years, it is fitting and proper
that the city and county express their gratitude to him by naming
the airport, a project which he was largely instrumental in ob-
taining, the "Barkley Airport".
NOW TiEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMM-
ISSIONERS OF TRE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That the City of Paducah approve the change of the name
of the Paducah -McCracken County Airport to the "Barkley Airport",
and that the County Judge and the members of the Fiscal Court.of
McCracken County Kentucky be urged to also give their approval to
the re -naming of said Airport the "Barkley Airport".
