STRUCTING BELTLINE THROUGH THE CITY OF PADUCAH THE
COY.PLETION OF A\ UNDERPASS UNDER THE P €a I RAILROAD ON JACKSON
STREET.
WHEREAS, It is understood that plans for the construction
of a Eeltline Highway include an underpass under the P & I Rail-
road, cut that the underpass is not to be constructed this year;
and
NHEREAS, The construction of an underpass at this location
is a project as important and beneficial for the safety of
motorists as the Eeltline '_.i`hway itself, and the dans should
be revised in order that such construction av+ork be done at the
same time the hiZbway is built;
NOW', THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Honorable Garrett
L. 'zithers, Commissioner of ziZhways, be urged to revise his
construction plans by including the work of building an underpass
under the P F-, I Railroad on Jackson Street at the same time the
Eeltline Highway is constructed and that plans be made for com-
pletion of the entire project this year.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolu-
tion be mailed to tx . Withers and that the City Manager be re-
quested to transmit said resolution by letter, informin,7 hLi of
the advantages to the city by including tia unde Pass in the
present hi-hway construction program.
