HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 11, Page 428, No Resolution Number428 A RESOLUTION EXT_i,<PTING FROT4 MUNICIPAL TAXATION FOR A PERIOD OF FIVE YEARS THE MANUFACTURING BUSINESS AND PROPERTIES OF SOL BRONSTEIN AND NORUAN BRONSTEIN ON NORTH 8TH STREET PBTNEEN JEFFERSON AND H90NROE STREETS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY. WFEREAS, a 7artnership firm composed of Sol Bronstein and 'Norman Bronstein has purchased a lot 83x173.25 feet at #219 North 8th street in Paducah, Kentucky, and said property will be used for the operation of a plant in which clothinr, will be manu- factured, and the said Sol Bronstein and Norman Bronstein have submitted to the Board of Commissioners their application for exemption from municipal taxation on all of the manufacturing properties and business; and It appearing from said application that the factory to be erected by the said Sol Bronstein and Norman Bronstein will be a new and bona fine manufacturing establishment and under the Statutes of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the ordinances of the City of Paducah, said plant is entitled to exemption from municipal taxation for a period of five (5) years as an inducement to the operation of said manufacturing plant in the City of Paducah. NOW WEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LOARD Or 001-:-:ISSIOITERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KE1N7UCKY: SECTION 1. That the manufacturing business of Sol Bronstein and 2iorman Bronstein located at 219 North 8th Street, to,ether with al of the property owned by them at said location be, and the same is hereby exempt from the payment to the City of Paducah of all ad va and license taxesv:rith the exception of the taxes due and payable school purposes for a period of five (5) years, beginning with the ad valorem assessment which will become due and payable in the yea 1949 and the license taxes which will become due and payable durin the year 1948. Provided, hoc:ever, the exemption herein authorized shall not apply and said company shall be required to list said property for ad valorem taxes for the year 1949 unless a plant for the manufacture of clothing is constructed upon the aforesaid property and said plant is in operation before July 1, 1948.
