HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 11, Page 241, No Ordinance Number4- 241 j AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN (RDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER, RANK AND AMOUNT OF MONTHLY COMPENSATION OF EMPLOYEES OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; PRESCRIBING THE QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANTS FOR ORIGINAL APPOINTMENTS AS MEMBERS OF THE FIRE DEPARWENT; PRESCRIBING 7HE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE FILLING OF VACANCIEI BY THE OLDEST MET. --BER IN POINT OF SERVICE IN THE DEPARTIdENT; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH", WHICH WAS ADOPTE] BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON THE 26TH DAY OF MARCH; 1946, AS AMENDED BY AN ORDINANCE ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF CON&GISSIONERS ON NOVEMBER 25, 1947 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COiti-IISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER, RANK AND AMOUNT OF MONTHLY COMPENSATION OF EA]PLO'YEES OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; PRESCRIBING THE QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANTS FOR ORIGINA] APPOINTMENTS AS Ia'EMBERS OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT; PRESCRIBING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE FILLING OF VACANCIES BY THE OLDEST I'.1EMBER IPI POINT OF SERVICE IN THE DEPARTMENT; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THE_RENITH", which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on the 26th day of March, 1946, as amended by an ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners on November 25, 1947, be and the same is hereby amended so that said section as amended shall read as follows: "Section 1. The number and rank of members of the Fire Department of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and their salaries, provided said salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Position Number of Employees Monthly Salary (1) Chief 1 $260.00 (2) Assistant Chief 1 215.00 (3) Mechanic 1 210.00 (4) Captains 5 200.00 (5) Lieutenants 6 195.00 (6) Engineers 8 190.00 (7) Switchboard Operators 3 185.00 (8) Grade "A" Firemen 19 185.00 (9) Grade "B" Firemen 1 175.00 The salaries at the aforesaid rates shall be paid for services rendered from and after December 1st, 1947." SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. 242 SECTION 3.
