HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 11, Page 194, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION REt UESTMU THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTIJE FOR FIDS OF CONTRACTORS FOR THE RE -ROOFING AND RE -PLASHING OF 114E T.'AUSOLEUIS BUILDING IN OAIC GROVE CEMETERY AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON :°riiIC II BIDS SHALL BE SUBMITTED 41 BE IT RESOLVED B'{ THE BOARD OF COI-VISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City='-ana-er be and lie is hereby authorized to advertise for bids of contractors for the re -roofing and re-flashinZ of the b:ausoleum Building in Oak Grove Cemetery, said bids to be submitted accordin-, to specifications and blue prints of the work which may be secured from the office of the City F,uildinC Inspector, Central Fire Station, 320-322 Kentucky Avenue, as well as upon such other conditions as the City i•innager may impose. Each bidder shall accompany his bid with a certified check for ;;50.00 payable to the City Treasurer, the same to be deposited as a guarantee that he will accept the contract if it is awarded to him and to be forfeited upon his failure to do so. SECTION 2. The City Yanager shall advertise for bids by a notice hosted up at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least seven days Prior to the openin, of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which tris resolution is adopted. No bid she'.1 be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the openin- of bids. All bids received by the City I•:anager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the city shall not become legally obligated to accept the bid of any contractor until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract.
