HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 11, Page 1, No Resolution Number1 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAY14ENT OF THE SUM OF $500.00 TO THE ELECTRIC PLANT BOARD OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR USE IN THE PAYMENT OF THE FEE OF WALLER, THRELKELD & WHITLOW FOR SERVICES RENDERED BY THEM AS ATTORNEYS FOR SAID BOARD FROM OCTOBER 1, 1946 TO DECEMBER 31, 1946, INCLUSIVE, IN THE SUIT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, ET AL, AGAINST THE KENTUCKY UTILITIES COMPANY. WHEREAS, the Electric Plant Board of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, has submitted to the City of Paducah its resolution requesting the appropriation of the sun of `;500 to be used for payment of the Board's Attorneys, Taller, Threlkeld & Whitlow for legal services rendered by said attorneys from October 1•, 1946 to December 31, 1946, inclusive, and said board has recommen- ded the payment of a fee to them for their services during said period. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF CObu'ISSIONERS OF' THE CITY OF PADUCAH: SECTION ONE That the request of the Electric Plant Board be granted and the City Manager and the City Treasurer are hereby authorized and empowered to deliver to said board a check in the sum of 6'500, to be used for payment of the bill of Waller, Threlkeld & Whitlow for services rendered by them as attorneys for said board from October 1, 1946 to December 31, 1946, inclusive, in the suit of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, et al, against the Kentucky Utilities Company now pending in the 1.IcCracken Circuit Court. SECTION TWO This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. Ma yor Adopted by the hoard of Commissioners on January 7, 1947 Recorded by Sarah Thurman, City Clerk on January 7, 1947. 1- 2,/ z -as- 17Y7 �- io p n7` SS WL 3 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLE J "AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE BUILDING CODE RECOMMENDED Bf THE NATION AL BOARD OF FIRE UNDERWRITERS, EXCEPT CERTAIN CLAUSES AND SECTIONS THEREOF WHICH ARE HEREBY EXPRESSLY ELIMINATED, AND ALSO ADOPTING THE STANDARDS OF SAFETY APPROVED tY THE DIVISION OF INSURANCE FIRE PREVENTION AND RATES SECTION OF THE STATE OF KENTUCKY; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A BUILDING INSPECTOR TO ADMINISTER AND EN- FORCE THE PROVISIONS OF THE BUILDING CODE AND THE STANDARDS OF SAF1 FIXING THE FEES TO BE CHARGED BC THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR BUILDING AND WRECKING PERMITS; FIXING AND P-E3CRIBING THE QUALIFICATIONS OF THE BUILDING INSPECTOR, HIS COMPENSATION, P017ERS AND DUTIES; PROVIDING A SEPARABILITY CLAUSE AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THERE-I'ITH; AND FIXING THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF WHICH WAS ADOPTED 13Y THE BOARD OF COMiMiI3SIONERS ON SEPTEMBER 24th, 1946 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMI33IONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 3 of an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE BUILDING CODE RECOQ."ENDED BY THE NATIONAL BOARD OF FIRE UNDERWRITERS, EXCEPT CERTAIN CLAUSES AND SECTIONS THEREOF WHICH ARE HEREBY EXPRESSLY ELIMINATED, AND ALSO ADOPTING THE STANDARDS OP SAFETY APPROVED BY THE DIVISION OF INSURANCE FIRE PRE- VENTION AND RATES SECTION OF THE STATE OF KENTUCKY; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTLIEPIT OF A BUILDING INSPECTOR TO ADMINISTER AND ENFORCE THE PROVISIONS OF THE BUILDING CODE AMID THE STANDARDS OF SAFETY; FIXING THE FEES TO BE CHARGED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR BUILDING AND WRECKING PERMITS; FIXING AND PRESCRIBING THE QUALIFICATIONS OF THE BUILDING INSPECTOR, HIS COMPENSATION, POWERS AND DUTIES; PROVIDING A SEPARABILITY CLAUSE AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; AND FIXING THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF", which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on September 24, 1946, be, and the same is hereby amended so that said section as amended shall read as follows: - "Section 3. The Building Inspector shall, upon his approval of plans and specifications for buildings and Structures in accordance with the provisions of the Building ;ode, the Standards of Safety, and all laws and ordinances elating to the same subject matter, issue a permit to the .pplicant therefor upon the payment to the City of Paducah of ees as follows: 3 (1) For each building permit covering the original construction of any building to be used as a manufacturing establishment, the fees shall be: For the first 7500 cubic feet X3.00, for each additional 1000 cubic feet or fraction thereof up to 100,000 cubic feet 20 cents, and for each additional 10,000 cubic feet or fraction thereof 50 cents. . (2) For each building permit covering the original construction of any other building or structure to cost less than $1,000.00, the fee shall be $2.00; to cost $1,000.00 the fee shall be $3.00, and 15 cents for each additional x;100.00, or fraction thereof up to ;,3000.00; and to cost X3,000.00 the fee shall be 7,6.00 and x;1.00 for each additional $1,000.00 or fraction thereof. (3) For each permit to cover alterations and repairs, no charge will be made if the amount expended is less than x:300.00 but for the expenditure of ;;300.00 for such purpose the fee shall � be � 2.00 �;� , plus 20 cents for each additional ;;100.00 or fraction thereof which is expended.
