HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 996, No Ordinance NumberAN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR 'IHE CONVEYAWCE TO TRE UNITED STATES OIC' A,IERICA OF A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED AT THE NORTHEAST 70RPdL'R OF TIIE INTERSECTION OF 21ST All ?'OiIROE S'IREET3 II: AE -ITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER, AND AUTHORIZING THE I,iAIOP, TO EXECUTE, FOR AND ON LEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, A DEED OF CONVEYANCE TO SAID P.^.O PER TY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE 30AP.D OF C0111iI33IONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KMITUCKY: :SEC TION 1. 9 9 G That the City of Paducah, in consideration of the agree- ment of the United States of-mcrica to finance the construction of a public health center in said city, sell and convey to the United States of America a certain tract of land lying and being at the northeast corner of the intersection of 21st and I,:onroe Streets in said city and be_ng more particularly described as follows: "Beginning at the Piortheast corner of the intersection of 21st and I.ionroe Streets: thence in a IIorthwardly direction and along the East line of 21st Street 346.5 feet to the-Jouth line of I3adison Street; thence in an Lastr;ardly direction and along the Jouth line of I:?adison Street 405.7 feet, more or less, to the '.Jest line of a 50 foot lot owned by Dr. a. D. Pulliam; thence at an interior gngle of 90 degreos and 18 minutes and in a 3outhwardly direction 540.5 feet to the North line of Monroe Street; thence in a ,ilestwardly direction and along the Forth line of Monroe .itreet 407.5 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning." Bein., the same property conveyed to the City of Paducah b;; deed dated December 23rd, 1941, and of record in Deed Look 213,,page 257, in the office of the County Court lerk of McCracken County, Kentucky. SEC TI 0111 2. Upon receipt of advices from the Federal Works Agency that the Government is ready to proceed with the construction of said health center, the I..ayor is hereby authorized and empowered to execute and deliver for the City of Paducah a deed of conveyance to the United States of rmerica, conveying said property with covenant of Special Jarranty. SEC TION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. - i gassed by the Board of Commissioners, EaJ 9th, 1944.
