HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 988, No Resolution Number988 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVER FOR BIDS FOR REPAINTING THE MARKET HOUSE, AILD 11:ESCRIBING `.PIE MANNER IN WHICH SAID BIDS SHALL BE ADVERTISED BE IT RESOLVED BY'"HE L-OARD OF COM I aSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: UEC TION 1. That the City Manager, Mr. If. G. McElwee, be and he is hereby authorized and empowered to advertise for bids for repainting the city market house, and under the terms of the contract of employment the successful bidder shall agreeto furnish all labor and material for painting the exterior doors, transoms, interior doors and transoms with one (1) cost and the cornice, ceiling and beams with two (2) costs. Bid s shall be received by him not later than play 9th, 1944 at 10:00 o'clock A.M., and all bids shall be received under seal. He shall advertise for bids by a notice posted at the City Hall door, and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat, said notice to be published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids. No bid shall be received after the hour fixedfon the opening of bids and they shall thereafter be filed with the Board of Commissioners who shall let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. SEC TION 2. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and shall not become legally liable or obligated to the successful bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the executior. of a contract.
