AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER I
INTO AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR TILL' PURrIIASE OF GASOLINE AND j
OIL FROM THE PHILLIPS PETROLEUr+I CORPORATION, EOR A PERIOD OF
FOUR (4) NIONTHS FROM FEBRUARY 15th, 1944, A14D PRESCRIBING THE

SECTION 1.

That the City I,Ianager be, and he is hereby authorized
II to enter into and execute with the Phillips Petroa!iWm Corporation
a contract for the purchase by the City upon its order the gasolie
ii and oil required for all governmental operations during a period

li of four (4) months from ,ebruary 15th, 1944, said contract to
i
contain the following terms, conditions and covenants:-

"The Company hereby agrees to sell and deliver to the City; upon
its order the gasoline and motor oil required for all Governmental,
f
operations durinL a'period of four (8) months from February 15th,
1944, at the following prices:
Gasolina . . . .

Premium B-otor Oil (Phillips 66) . . . 461
First Grade Votor Oil (Trop Artic) . . . 36,
"Payment shall be made by the City not later than the ten
of each month for the amount of products sold and delivered
the preceding month. A discount of 1% shall be allowed for all
lpurchased during any month if payment is made on or before the
10th day of the next month.
"In consideration of the Areement of the City to
purchase of the Company all of the gasoline and motor oil re-
quired for use during the aforesaid period, the Company agrees
that in the event of a general advance in the retail price of
gasoline or motor oil at any time during the aforesaid period,
the Comoan)f's obligation to sell and deliver gasoline and oil
at the aforesaid prices shall remain and continue in full force
and effect, but in the event of a decline in the retail price of
either of said products, the City shall be given the benefit of
the reduction in price."
SECTION 2.
As the various departments of the City must be immediately
supplies with r^asoline and oil for the protection of the
public health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to oxist
and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and i
afL-er its adoption.
