FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF 2500 FEET OF FIRE NOSE, APID
PRESCRIBING THE MANNER IN WHICIi TIIL REQUEST FOR 3IDS SHALL BE
ADVERTISED
WHEREAS, the War Production Board has approved the purchase
by the 8ity of Paducah of 2500 feet of additional fire hose pro-
vided the city can furnish all couplings;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That the City 1.1anager, Mr. H. G. McElwee, be and he is
hereby authorized and empowered to advertise for bids for the
purchase of 2500 feet of 2z inch fire hose without couplings.
Bids shall be received by him not later than Jaivary 4th, 1944
at 10:00 ofclock A.M., and all bids shall be submitted under seal.
He shall advertise for bids by notice posted at the City Hall Door
and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one (1)
issue of the Sun -Democrat, said notice to be published at least
seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids. No bid shall be
received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids, and they
shall thereafter be filed by the Board of Commissioners who may
let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder.
SECTION 2.
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and;
shall not become legally liable or obligated to the successful
bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution
of a contract.
SECTION 3.
iThis Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
