HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 892, No Ordinance NumberAN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF TIIE SUM i OF TWO THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR TIIE PURCHASE O' NECESSARY i I PARTS FOR TIIE REBUILDING OF THE OLD SEAGRAVE PUI+IPER, AND AUTHOP,IZr.f THE CITY ?MANAGER TO PAY OUT OF THE CONTINGENT FUPID THE BILLS ?OR SUCH PARTS AS MAY BE REQUIRED RIOT EXCEEDING THE AMOUNT HEREIN APPROPRIATED i FlIiEREAS, in compliance with the request of the National 3oard of Fire Underwriters and upon the rocommendation of the City I.:anager, it is deemed advisable b;; the board of Commissioners to improve the efficiency of the Paducah faire Department by placing in operation the old seagrave pumper owned by said city; and, :NIiEREAS, in order to accomplish this purpose, it will be necessary to purchase the top half of the crani; case of said pumper, toether with new pistons, rings, pins, valves, fitting rods and other parts which must be replaced; II07 THEREFORE, BE IT ORDA_IIdED BC THE 2OARD OF CO?•1+I33IOi:i,RS 0' 41iE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the stun of Two Thousand Two Hundred Dollars (;''2,200.00) be, and the same is hereby appropriated by the City of Paducah for the purchase of necessary parts for the rebuildin;; of the old Seagrave Pumper for.service in the fire department of said city, and the City ?Manager is hereby authorized to pay out of the Contingent Fund such sums as may be necessary for the purchase of said parts not exceeding the amount herein appropriated. SECTIOII 2. As it is necessary to immediately place said pumper in operation for the protection of the property of the City of Paducah and its citizens against loss by fire, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
