HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 890, No Ordinance Number890 j All ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF TILE SUPS OF ONE TTIOUSAND EIGIiT IlUiMRED aEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS FROM THE CONTINGM" FUIID TO TIIE &MOUNT A"PROPRIATED FOR THE USE AND BENEFIT OF TIIE ENGINEERIiIG DEPAR`1111ENT III THE YEAR 1943, THE SA"T TO BE USED FOR PAYIIENT OF THE SALARIES OF THE CITY ENGINEER AND `.I'HE CHIEF DRAFTSMAII FOR SERVICES RENDERED BEGI;:IiING AUGUST 1st, 1943 PLIEREAS, the sura of :;;5,684.00 was set aside for the conduct of the En^ineering Department during the year 1943 under the Apportionarmt Ordinance for said year, but said sum did not include the salaries of the City Engineer and the Chief Draftsman; and, V.11EREAS, under the provi: ionn of section. 89,G40 of the Kentucky Revised Statutes, the Board of Commissioners may, at any meeting after the passage of the apportionment ordinance, and after at least one week's notice, authorize the transfer of unused appropriations for one purpose to another purpose; and, WHEREAS, there are sufficient unused funds appropriated to the Cdntingent fund for payment of the salaries of the City Engineer and the Chief Draftsman for their employment in the Engineering Department for the remainder of the year 1943 bepinnin.g Au;?ust 1st, 1943; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAIitiRD BY THE BOARD OF COT.1-9235IONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. ,chat the sum of One Thousand Ei!Rht Hundred Seventy - Dollars five (:;1,875.00)/be, and the same is hereby transferred - from the Contingent Fund of the City of Paducah to the amount appropriated for the conduct of the Engineering Department for the year 1943, the same to be used for payment of the salary of the City Engineer at the rate of ;200.00 per month and the I salary of the Chief Draftsman at the rate of h175.00 per month i for the remainder of said year beginning must 1st, 1943, so i that the total anpronriat-ion to the En`incering Department during I said year will amount- to ;,:7,559.00. :SECTION 2. 891 • �l a This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular 1imeotin, of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file at Jileast one week for public inspection in the completed form in Ivrhich it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted, �the same shall be in full force and effect ten days after the Idate of its adoption. s ugust 31st, 1943 eptember 1, 1943.
