HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 866, No Ordinance Number866 / AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND REGULATING THE LICENSING AND INOCULATIDN OF DOGS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; PROHIBITING THE OWNERS OR KEEPERS OF DOGS FROM, ALI,OI'YING SUCH DOGS TO BE AT LARGE; AND IMPOSING PENALTIES UPON OWNERS AJ -TD KEEPERS OF DOGS FOR NON-PAYMENT OF LICNESE TAXES THEREON AND FOR VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE", WHICH ."IAS ADOPT ED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON ItilAY 18th, 1943. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C0131ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAII, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 5 of an ordinance entitled: "AU ORDINANCE i PROVIDING FOR AND REGULATING THE LICENSING AILD INOCULATION OF DOGS IPI THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; PROHIBITING THE 07,^IERS OR KEEPERS OF DOGS FROM ALL0:9ING SUCH DOGS TO �iC AT LARGE; AND IMPOSING PENALTIES UPON O'.:'PIERS AND KEEPERS OF DOGS FOR NODI -PAYMENT OF LICENSE TAXES THEREON AND FOR VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE", which was adopted by the L'oard of Commissioners on i&ay 18th, 1943, be and the same is hereby amended so that said section as amended shall read as follows: "SECTIOPI 5. Any dog found at large, either licensed or unlicensed shall be subject to be seized and impounded by the City of Paducah' and such dog not claimed and whose release has not been procured within 7 days after its seizure, shall be subject to be destroyed in the manner as may be determined by th9 City Veterinarian or Live Stock Inspector. "Any licensed dog may be redeemed and released to its owner or keeper within seven (7) days after being taken up and impounded, and for every licensed dog redeemed and released to its owner or keeper there shall be paid to the City of Paducah a redemption fee of y$1.00 i and in addition, the sum of 25¢ per day to cover the cost of keeping such dog while in the pound. "For the purpose of carrying this ordinance into effect, any police officer or any person especially employed or appointed for that purpose may seize and impound any dog found at large." SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed. SECTION 3.
