That the City of Paducah accept the offer of Bradley i Brothers to sell to it :;"thin six (6) months from this date, Portland Cement in a quantity not exceeding- 3000 barrels at the i price of'2.31' zer barrel, to be used in city construction work, and that the City Manager be authorized to enter into a contract for the purchase of such material upon the condition that (1) the city shall not be authorized to purchase any specified amount I of cement, but shall have the ri;-ht to purchase any amount desired in car load lots and at the urice above stated uo to 3000 barrels; (2) that payment for such purchase shall be made by the City of Paducah within thirty (30) days after the delivery of any order;; I and (3) that the contract for the purchase of said cement shall j contain such further 'terms and conditions as may be recommended by the City Engineer. SECTION 2. I As it is necessary to immediately purchase a sufficient quantity of cement -to proceed with the building of streets now undeI r construction, the public health and safety of the citizens requires that this ordinance Lake immediate effect an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
