BART= Y AND REPRESENTATIVE NOBLE 'REGORY TO URGE THE INAR PRODUCTION LOARD TO APPROVE THE APPLICATION OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, IZTTUCICY, FOR A PRIORITY RATING WHICH 1"FILL ENABLE IT TO IIriI'r?EDIATELY PURCHASE 2500 FEET OF FIRE ROSE WHEREAS, the City of Paducah has heretofore applied to the "`ar production Board for permission to purchase 2500 feet of 21 inch multex multiple brand fire hose; and, i ',VHEREAS, the 11ar Production Board has refused to approve a priority rating which will enable the City to purchase said hose; and, 7HEREAS, the Fire Department of the City of Paducah is greatly handicapped by reason of the shortage of fire hose and it is imperative that new hose be obtained if the properties of j the Illinois Central Railroad Chops, the International Shoe I, Company, t;.. Fine €c Sons, the ;ronstein Shirt Factory, the I claussner IIosiery I,7ills and other large industrial plants, as yell as the properties of private citizens are adequately pro - i I tected against loss by fire; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LOARD OF COI,XTIaSIONERS I OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KMiTUCI,Y: SECTION 1. i i I That the Hon. Alben ';f. Barkley, United States Senator, and Moble Gregory, United States Representative of this district, Ij be and they are hereby requested to interview the officials of the; War Production Board and urge them to approve the application of i the City of Paducah for a priority ratting which will enable it to immediately purchase 2500 feet of fire hose which is so badly f needed at this time. I Ij SECTION 2. This Resolution shall be :in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
