AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED:
"AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE POLICE
IDEPART,YMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT THEREWITH", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMlitISSIONERS
'ION SEPTEMBER 29TH, 1936.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMI33IONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That Section 2 of an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE
PRESCRIBING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTistENT OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH`
which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on September 29th,
1936, be and the same is hereby amended so that said section as amen-
Ided shall read as follows:
II "SECTION 2. The rank and position in the Police Department
land in the order of superiority shall be as follows:
1st. Chief
2nd. Assistant thief
�i 3rd. Chief of Detectives
4th. Director of identification
5th. Captains
6th, Patrolmen Grade "A"
7th. Patrolmen Grade "B"
"Qualifications for all men for the Police Department
Ilshall b e as follows: The applicant must be twenty-two (22) years
of age and not over forty (40) years of age. He must be able to
(,,exhibit a certificate or a sworn statement of a teacher of the
public schools that he has completed the eighth grade. He must be
Ia qualified voter of the city and able to pass an "A 1" physical

Ilexamination and furnish references from five (5) reputable citizens.
In'addition to the causes for dismissal, suspension and
I
(demotion provided by law, all members of said Police Department
';shall be subject to demotion, suspension and dismissal for the
causes hereinafter set out."

SECTION 2.

11 All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict

jlherewith are, to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption. q�
