A RESOLUTION PRESCRI7..ING THE QUALIFICATIONS OF
PHYSICIANS AND SURGEONS WHO SIiALL BE PERMITTED TO PRACTICE IN
THE PADUCAH MUNICIPAL HOSPITAL, OR THE RIVERSIDE IIOSPITAL, IN
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable to I,rescribe the
qualifications of physicians and surgeons who shall be eligible
for membership upon the M&dical Staff of the Riverside Hospital
in order to meet the minimum hospital standardization requirements
of the American College of Surgeons,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIIE 2OARD OF
COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
That '.he treatment of patients in the Riverside Hospital
shall be restricted to members of the hospital medical staff, and
membership upon the Medical Staff of said hospital shall be
restricted to physicians and surgeons who are -
(a) Graduates of medicine of acceptable medical schools
with the degree of Doctor of I,Iedicine, in good standing, and
legally licensed to prRctice in the state of Kentucky and
rer-istered to practice in McCracken County;
(b) Competent in their respective fields;
(c) 17orthy in character and in matters of professional

Each Physician and sur, -eon who is a member of the
McCracken County Medical Society shall be a member of this staff
and be permitted to use the facilities of said hospital in the
treatment of patients. All other appointments upon the hospital
medical staff shall be made by the controling body upon the
reco mmendation of the medical staff.
Any physician or surgeon now eligible to serve, and any who
may hereafter be appointed, shall retain his membership upon
the Medical Staff of said hospital so long as the staff member
shall remain qualified and adhere to and abide by the aforesaid
rules and the rules governing said minicipal hospital. except
where the appointment :is made for a specific period of time.

SECTION
This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after -its adoption.
