HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 336, No Resolution NumberPage 336 V A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE SALE TO THE KENTUCKY UTILITIES COMPANY OF A FRANCHISE OR PRIVInEGE TO FURNISH ELECTRICITY FOR LIGHT POWER, HEAT AND ANY OTHER PURPOSE FOR WHICH ELECTRICITY I;; USED IN AML THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY THAT WHEREAS, the City of Paducah, by and through its Board of Commissioners, adopted on August 20th, 1940, an ordinance creating a franchise or privilege to furnish electricity for light power, heat and any other purposes for which electricity is used in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and providing for the sale of said franchise or privilege; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of said ordinance the City Manager was authorized to sell said franchise or privilege at public auction to the highest and best bidder; and, IHEREAS, on the 16th day of September, 1940, at the City Hall door in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, the City Manager offered said franchise or privilege for sale at public auction as directed in the aforesaid ordinance, and the Kentucky Utilities Company became the purchaser of said franchise or privilege by bidding therefor the sum of k1,000.00, N0W, M EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C012MISSIONERS OF THE CITi OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SEC TCON 1. That the sale to the Kentucky Utilities Company for the sum of $1,000.00 for said franchise or privilege to furnish electricity for light, power, heat and any other purpose for which electricity is used in the City of Paducah, Kentucky,te and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, and the purpose price therefor shall be paid into and become a part of the general fund of said city. SECTION 2. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
