HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 186, No Resolution NumberPage 136 ��qq A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY YAITAGER TO EMPLOY A i DELINQUENT INSURANCE LICENSE COLLECTOR FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH, i KENTUCKY, TO MAID; COLLECTIONS OFA' ANY AND ALL INSURANCE LICENSE TAX AND PENALTIES THEREON WHICH ARE PAST DUE AI'TD U:dPAID; PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF SUCH COLLECTOR, AND FIXING THE AMOUNT OF HIS COMPENSATION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: i SECTION 1. F v9EN 6-- O / That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized G� and empowered to employ a Delinquent Insurance License Collector Yjyr.,c, a 6- 4 1 to make collection of any and all insurance license tax and � ,;z/7-- penalties thereon which are past due the City of Paducah, includ- ing the taxable year of 1940. (Taxes which became delinquent February 1st, 1940), except that said Delinquent Insurance I' P License Collector shall not collect any insurance license tax from Companies represented by local resident agents that paid a I tax for the taxable year of 1939, but have not yet procured a license for the taxable year 1940, or from any company, whether represented by a local resident agent or a non-resident agent, when such company has, in any year prior to 1940, either paid said license tax to the city or has been charged with such tax as shown by the records in the office of the City Treasurer. SECTION 2. The Delinquent Insurance License Collector shall have the i entire responsibility for the collection of insurance license tax III without any expense to the City of Paducah, and for his services he i shall receive a fee equal to 25/LZ� of the amount of said license tax and penalties so collected, the amount of said fee to be paid i regardless as to whether said payments are made to the City Clerk, City Treasurer or any other representative of said city, and the j I proportionate share of such collection is to be paid to said I Delinquent Insurance License Collector on the 1st day of each month next after the collection is made. SECTION 3. q Said Delinquent Insurance License Collector shall e xecute and deliver to the City of Paducah a bond in the sum of ;2500.00 i with corporate surety approved by the City ;,tanager for the use and li benefit of the City of Paducah for the faithful performance of his duties, and the faithful accounting of all funds coming into his hands and under his control. Page 187 SECTION 4. The City Manager shall have the right to terminate the employment of said Delinqu6nt Insurance License Collector at any time and i i without notice, but in the event said employment shall be terminated, he shall be entitled to receive the proportionate l share of such collections Which are made by the City of Paducah as the result of the settlement of any suits or the adjustment of a claim in any ease wherein a demand for payment has been made I by said Collector prior to his removal from office. SECTION 5. i The City Manager shall furnish to said Delinquent Insurance License Collector a copy of all ordinances applying to the licensing. of insurance companies, and a supply of blank: -.forms now used in the office of the City Treasurer for furnishinS receipts, but the dity{ shall nbt incur any other expense for supplies to be used by him in I connection with his official duties. SECTION 6.- Tnis Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
