HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 1548, No Ordinance Number1548 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF THE ADDRESSOGRAPH SALES AG IN THE SUM OF THREE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED NINETY SIX DOLLARS AND NINETY EIGHT CENTS FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF THE MACHINE AND NECESSARY EQUIPMENT FOR USE IN THE PREPARATION OF TAX BILLS IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY TREASURER; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAID MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT, AND APPROPRIATING THE S1UP4 OF THREE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED NINETY SIX DOLLARS AND NINETY EIGHT CENTS, FOR PAYMENT OF THE PURCHASE PRICE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, IENTUCKY: SECTION ONE That the City of Paducah accept the bid of the Addressograph Sales Agency, of Evansville, Indiana, in the sum of ;;3,296.98 for tie purchase of the following described machinery and equipment, to be used in the preparation of tax bills in the office of the City Treasurer, Paducah, Kentucky, to -wit: One Addressograph, Model 1900 $1203 One Graphotyte, Model 6340 915 15 M Style GG Addressoloy Plates including top and bottom sections 126.75 15 M Style G. G. Single Electrocote Pivoloktab Frames 416.25 140 Style B Filing Drawer 168.00 2 Style B D-70 General Fireproofing Cadinets 289.00 1 Dozen Addressograph ribbons - Size 1 7/8, Black 14.40 1 M Strips of strip carding, buff color - 3 1/2 inches long 12.00 1 Universal Card Cutter 17.25 300 Cut index cards and celluloid salmon color for style B drawers 8.25 POLus 6% Federal excise tax (on first two items only) $2,118.00) 127.08 7- SI 67M And the City Idanager is hereby authorized to enter into and execute, for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, a contract for the purchase of the above described machine and equipment, upon terms providing that the purchase price shall not be paid until the same has been receivelld, installed, and approved by the City Treasurer and upon the further .condition that said sales agency shall reserve the right to in- crease the above quoted prices up to the prices charged other customers when shipment is made, but such increases shall not ex- Iceed in any event ten percent of the aforesaid prices. Said 1549 contract shall contain such additional agreements, terms and con- ditions as may be required by the City Manager in order to pro- t4ct the interests of the City of Paducah. SECTION TWO The sum of 1,13,296.98 is hereby appropriated for payment of the purchase price for the aforesaid machine and equipment for preparation of tax bills, the amount of such appropriation to be charged to the contingent fund for the year 1946. SECTION THREE This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of th board of commissioners and remain on file for public inspection at least one week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted, shall be in full force and effect ten days thereafter.
