HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 1475, No Ordinance Number1475 / AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO CONTRACTS FOR THE PURCHASE OF GASOLINE AND OIL REQUIRED IN GOVERNMENTAL OPERATIONS OF THE CITY OF PA^UCAH, KENTUCKY DURING A PER LOD OF FOUR (4) MONTHS BEGINNING OCTOBER 1st, 1946, and PROVIDING THAT PURCHASES SHALL BE MADE UPON THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS SET FORTH IN THE BIDS SUBMITTED B1 SAID COMPANIES, AND UPON SUCH OTH:.R TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS MAY BE REQUIRED BY THE CITY MANAGER EE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C0I,3.II3SIONER3 OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City tanager be, and he is authorized for and on behalf of the City of Paducah to enter into a contract with the Shell Oil Company for the purchase of hell Premium Ethyl Gasoline in tank wagon quantities at ;;0.1675 per gallon, f.o.b. at the storage tanks of the city, said price to include the state tax of 5� per gallon; also a con- tract with the ::standard Oil Company for the purchase of Kyso Diesel Lube H.D. Motor Oil (Detergent) in drum lots at 471 per gallon exclusive of federal tax; and also a contract with the Sinclair Refining Company for the purchase of Sinclair Pennant Motor Oil at 38¢ per gallon, said gasoline and oil to be purchased upon the order of the City of Paducah for use in governmental operations for a period of four (4) months beginning October 1st, 1946, and upon the terms and conditions set forth in the bid of the Shell Oil Company dated Au ust 29th, 1946, the bid of the Standard Oil Company dated August 28th, 1946, and the bid of the Sinclair Refining Company dated August 29th, 1946, which bids were received and filed by the Eoard of Commissioners at a regular meeting held on September 10th, 1946, and the same are referred to and made a part of this ordinance to the same extdnt as if fully copied herein. SEC TION 2. The contracts under which said gasoline and oil will be purchased shall further provide that in the event of a decline in the retail price of any of said products at any time during said period, the city shall be given the benefit of the reduction in price, and the City Manager shall include in said contracts such -•additional terms and conditions as may be necessary to protect the interests of the City of Paducah. SECTION 3. As the various departments of the city must be immediately supplied with gasoline and oil for the protection 1476 of the public health, safety and welfare, an emergency is here- by declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force i-0 and effect from and after its adopbion.
