HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 1465, No Ordinance Number1465 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE APPORTIONMENT OF PU LIC FUNDS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE YEAR 1946 AND APPROPRIATING THE PUBLllci REVENUE OF THE CITY TO SUCH PURPOSES", BY INCREASING, THE SALARIES OF ALL EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY, PROVIDING THE AMOUNT OF SUCH INCREASE, AND TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF 7,173.65 FROM THE CONTINGENT FUND FOR THE PAYMENT OF SAID ADDITIONAL SALARIES, AND BY TRANSFERRING FROM CONTINGENT FUND THE ADDITIONAL SUM OF $540.00 TO THE FIRE DEPARTME FOR PAYMENT OF ADDITIONAL SALARIES TO T.'EN IN SAID DEPARTMIENT WHO HAVE RECEIVED PROMOTIONS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF CO13.ISSIO1TDRS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SEC TION 1. That Section 1 of an 'ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE APPORTIONMENT OF PUBLIC FUNDS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, THE YEAR 1946 AND APPROPRIATING THE PU LIC REVENUE OF THE CITY TO SUCH PURPOSES" which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on April 23rd. 1946, be and the same is hereby amended so that said section as amended shall read as follows: "Section 1. That the salaries of each and all of the Employees of the City of Paducah be increased as of September 1st, 1946, in amounts as follows: Employees receiving compensation based upon an hourly wage shall be'entitled to an increase of 15 cents per hour for services rendered during the month of September, 1946 and an increase of 72 cents per hour in excess of the rate now paid beginning on October 1st, 1946. Employees who are paid a monthly salary shall be entitled to increase as follows; namely; those who now receive not exceeding 199.00 per month shall be entitled to an increase of $25.00 for services rendered during the month of September, 1946, and an increase of $12.50 per month in excess of the amount now paid beginning Oct. 1st, 1946; those now receiving as much as X100.00 and not exceeding $149.00 per month shall be entitled to an increase of ,$20.00 for services render during; the month of September, 1946, and an increase of j10.00 per month in excess of the amount now paid beginning October 1st, 1946; those now receiving as much as $,150.00 but not exceeding $199.1-10 pe month shall be entitled to an increase of ti15.00 for services rendeed during the month of September, 1946, and do increase of $7.50 per month in excess of the amount now paid beginning October 1st, 1945; and, those now receiving $200.00 nr more per month shall be entitled to an increase of $10.00 for services rendered during the month of September, 1946, and an increase of k5.CO per month in excess of amount now paid beginning October 1st, 1946. 1466 There is also appropriated from the contingent fund to the fire department the sum of X540.00 for payment of additional salaries to men in said department who have received promotions during the year 1946. SECTION II The City Clerk is hereby authorized to cause to be published Ln the Sun Democrat a notice of the introduction of this ordinance and the porposal to increase the salaries of all employees as ierein provided by transferring from the contingent fund the total sum of $7,173.65 for that purpose, said notice to be published at Least one (1) week before this ordinance shall be put upon its final )assage. SECTION III All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of said conflict, hereby repealed. 1470 SECTION IV This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
