COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT FOR THE I.iAI1T=TA I OF TIIE CITY AND COUNTY HEALTH UNIT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY TREA3U. TO TRANSFER SAID SUM FROI` THE CONTINGENT FUND TO THE APPROPRIATION TO THE PUi-LIC HEALTH DEPAR TIENT. "7HEREA3, pursuant to the provisions of an ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners on November 14th, 1944, the City of Paducah joined with the County of P:IcCrac'..en, estate of Kentucky, in the estac.liahment and maintenance of a city -county health departmen to be 'norm as "The Faducah-NeCracken County health Department", an it was agreed that one-half of the expense of operating said depart :vent would be paid by the City and the other one-half by the County and, 1,7HEREAS, there was appropriated bj the city under the apportionment ordinance of 1946, including the amount to be used fo the treatment of tuberculosis patients the sum of only x3,333.34 fo the use and benefit of the health department during said year when the total cost of maintaining said department will amount to one half of which should be paid by the City. NO01 THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE EOARD OF COPi,..IISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SEC TION 1. That the additional sum of ;1,166.60 be appropriated to the Paducah-EcCracl:en County Health Department for the maintenance of t City and county health unit so that the total appropriated by the city for that purpose will amount to „4500.00, and the City Treasur is hereby authorized to transfer said sum to the appropriation to t Public Health Department, SECTION 2. Pursuant to KRS 89.640, which provides that "At any meeting after the passage of the appropriation ordinance, and after at leas one week's notice, the board of commissioners may amend the ordinan so as to authorize the transfer of unused appropriations for one purnose to another purpose," the City Clerk is hereb.1 authorized t cause to be published in the Sun Democrat a notice of the introduct of this ordinance and the proposal to transfer the sum of from the contingent fund to the Public Health Department. SEC `FI ON 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed. :e 1424 SRC TI OI; 4. This ordinance shall be introduced by the Board of Commission and remain on file at least one (1) creek for public inspection in completed form in xhich it shall be put upon its final passage, a if adopted it shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
