HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 1422, No Resolution Number1,122 I` A RESOLD^tIC I AUTHORIZING AN Ai 1LICATIOd F0 ;:I ADVANCE OF aIe FUNDS FOR PLANNING A PROJECT FOR .':LIEF STORM :;EWIMS 171IEREAS, it appears that financial assistance is �o, f� L7 1 now available from the Federal Government covering the complete cost of planning certain municipal public works, including that hereinafter mentioned, without obli`ation to the municipality, upon application to the municipality, upon application to the Fed- eral Agency hereinafter mentioned; and, 7:1ERiEAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City are contemplating the creation of a certain project for the constructio of relief storm sewers in the Northwestern part of the Cit,; of Paducah in the vicinity of "The Branch" and Cruse Avenue, along 30th Street and P.:c^,uire ).venue and along: 27th Street and Ross Aven and through the western part of Noble Park, in order to eliminate overflows in the city, and, 7YIGREA3, the Board of Commissioners now desires to authorize an application for the federal assistance above mentioned in connection .,vith the necessary nlannin3 for suc{L project and desi es to appoint a representative to execute said application and otherwi e act for the City in this connection. NOVI THEREFORE, BE IT :JESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COTM3SIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SEC TION 1. , That '. ayne C. Seaton, Kayor of the City of Paducah, be and he is designated the authorized representative of the City I P for the purpose of executing the application hereinafter mentioned,) and otherwise act as a liaison between the City and the Federal ::`orks Agency below mentioned. SEC TION 2. That said ':;gyne C. Seaton is hereby authorized and directed to execute an application on behalf of the City, addressed to Federal 1or'=ts Agency, Bureau of Community Facilities, 20 North 'sacker Drive, Chicago, Illinois, requestin', an advance of funds to cover the necessary advance planning in connection with the above project, in an amount not to exceed ;,40,472.00. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
