AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION'S 1 AND 4 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AI ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER, RANK AND AI:OUNT OF 13ONTHLY COI.4PENSATION OF EMPLOYEES OF THE FIR -5 DEPARTP.IENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; PRESCRIBING TiIE QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLI, FOR ORIGINAL APPOINTMENTS AS NTE: ZBERS OF THE FIRE DEPARMENT; PRE- SCRIBING `"HE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE FILLING OF VACANCIES BY THE OLDEST MEMBERS IN POINT OF SERVICE IN THE DEPART"MENT; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES 111 CONFLICT THEREWITH", ?yHICH "sAS ADOPT ED BY THE BOARD OF COM:ISSIONERS ON THE 26TH DAY OF I.iARCH, 1946 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COT_Z1ISSIONER3 OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SEC TION 1. That Sections 1 and 4 of an ordinance entitled: "AN OPMINAIN1,1 ESTABLISHING THE IDMTB'ER, RANK AND Ai,iOUNT OF MONTHLY COMPENSATION OF T^PLOYEES OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; PRESCRIBING THE QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANTS FOR ORIGINAL APPOINT- MENTS AS MMIBERS OF THE FIR: DEPARIMCrT; PRESCRIBING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE FILLING OF VACANCIES BY THE OLDEST MEMBERS IN POINT OF SERVICE IN THE DEPARZMENT; A'TD REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IAT CONFLICT TIEREP;ITH", which was adopted by the board of Commissioner on the 26th day of March, 1946, be and the same are hereby amended so that said sections as amended shall read as follows: Section 1. The number and rank of members of the Fire Depart- ment of the City of Faducah, Kentucky, and their salaries, provided said salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as folloe:s: Position Number of Employees Monthly Salary (1) Chief 1 245.00 (2) Assistant Chief 1 180.00 (3) Captains 5 175.00 (4) Lieutenants 6 165.00 (5) Grade "A" Firemen 28 150.00 (6) Grade "B" Firemen -- 138.00 (7) Switchboard Operators 3 150.00 (8) mechanics 1 185.00 Section 4. Each and all captains employed bj the City I,ana.,er shall have and retain the same rank and shall be responsible to the Chief of the rive Department for the proper conduct and peE- formance of the duties of the firemen at the station to which he Is assi?ned. ^ach and all lieutenants shall also have and retain the same rank and each lieutenant shall be responsible to the Captain i charge of the station at which he is employed. The switchboard operators and the mechanic, whose rank shall be the same as that of a Grade "A" 1-ireman, shall be responsible directly to the "hief of the 21re rep::rtment for their conduct and for the proper performane of their duties. NTS 1411 SECTION 11 All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 111.
