HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 1402, No Ordinance Number1402 4 -- AN -- AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BIDS OF THE WILSON MACHINERY AND SUPPLY COMPANY AND THE ROY C. WHAYNE SUPPLY COMPANY FOR THE SALE OF STREET MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH, PROVIDING FOR THE APPROPRIATION OF THE SUM OF $3751.18 FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAID MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER CONTRACTS FOR THE PURCHASE THEREOF. WHEREAS under a resolution adopted by the Board of Commissioners on May 14, 1946, the City Manager was authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of a gasoline powered air compressor, a pick-up Eutter and street sweeper, and an asphalt spray tank to be used by the Street Department of the City of Paducah; and WHEREAS, notices of the request for bids were advertised pursuant to the provision of said resolution, and sealed bids were. received by the City Manager on May 28; 1946; and _ WHEREAS, all of the bids submitted to the City Manager have been received and filed, and it appearing that the bid of the 1,ilson Prachinery and Supply Company for a utility Spray Tank and the Bid of the Roy C. Whayne Supply Company for an a#r com- pressor and hose and pavement breaker should be accepted; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONER OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the bid of the ;ilson Machinery and Supply Company in the sum of One Thousand One Hundred Eighty-nine and 93/100 (X1189.93) Dollars for a spray tank described as follows: 1 Model #101 Littleford Bros. Utility Spray Tank, 400 gallon capacity, mounted on four 6 ply pneumatic tires, complete with two sets of 6" diameter U -type return heat flues; Two #4 Littleford Eros. Vaporizing Torch Type Burners, Fuel Pump,_41 Spray Bar, Slot Type Nozzles on 4" centers. Complete with all standard equipment and powered by a 7.7 H.P. Wisconsin Model AHH Engine. F.O.B. Lexington, Ky.. . . . . . . . . . . . . .1189.93 SECTION 2. That the City of Paducah also accept the .bid of the Roy C. Whayne Supply Company in the sum of Two Thousand Five Hundred Sixty-one and 25/100 (:;:2561.25) Dollars for the following described air compressor and hose and pavement breaker: 1 Jaeger Yodel 105 two stage air compressor mounted on two pneumatic tires, deliverin` 105 cubic feet of air at the exhaust, powered by a 6 cylinder Model F-226 Continental gasoline engine. The sum of Three Thousand Seven Pundred Fifty-one and 18/100 ($3751.18) Dollars is hereby appropriated for payment of the purchase price for the above described street machinery and equipment, the amount thereof to be charged to the fund appropriate to the Street Departmentof the City of Paducah, under the apportionment ordinance for the year 1946. SEC TI OId 4. That the City Lanaer be, and he is hereby authorized to enter into and execute, for and on behalf of the City of Paducah the contracts for the purchase of the above described street machinery and equipment from the '.Milson machinery and Supply Company and the Roy C. .'hayne Supply Company provided said contracts contain a provision under which the machinery and equipment purchased shall be delivered to the City of Paducah within thirty (30) days from the date o!' the contracts, and pro- vided said contracts contain such other covenants and conditions which the City TAanager may wish imposed. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for at least seven (7) days in its completed form for public inspection before being put upon its final passage, and if adopted It shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
