HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 1384, No Resolution Number1L 1384 V, A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF A GASOLINE POWERED AIR COMPRESSOR, A PICK UP GUTTER AND STREET SWEEPER, AND AN ASPIIALT SPRAY TANK TO BE USED BY THE STREET DEPARTEEI;T OF THE CITY OF' PADUCAH, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WINCH SAID PURCHASES SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE EOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City manager be, and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of one (1) Gasoline Powered Air Compressor, said Compressor to be mounted upon two (2) pneumatic tired wheels. Said Compressor must also be of the kind which will deliver from the receiver a sufficient amount of air to operate two (2) eighty (80) pound IPavement breakers. One -80 pound pavement breaker, 6 -points and 30 -feet of 2 inch air hose to be furnished with the compressor, also for the sale to the City of Paducah of one (1) Pick-up Gutter and Street Sweeper to sweep five (5) to six (6) feet of gutter and street, said machine to be of standard make and guaranteed and the bid price shall cover all necessary brooms and attachments to operate efficiently, with one (1) extra gutter and street sweeping broom, and also for the sale to the City of Paducah of one (1) 400 Ballon Capacity Asphalt Spray Tank mounted on two (2) pneumatic tired wheels, equipped with two (2) U -Draft Return Fluid Hand Spray and four (4) foot spray bar. No bid shall be considered unless it contains the written agreement of the bidder that said machinery, if purchased, shall be delivered to the City within a period of Thirty (30) days from the date of such purchase. SECTION II, The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted up at the city hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. Phe notice shall be posted and published at least seven days )rior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ;an days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No )id shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be ,eceived after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of ids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed n the notice shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who ay let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The Board f Commissioners s�aml reserve the right to reject any and all ids and the city shall not become legally obligated to purchase laud 1385 equipment until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of.a contract.
