MCEL'NEE, CITY MANAGER, TO REV.EICE BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE':OF ONE (1) POWER MOWER WITH 5 FOOT CUTTING BAR; AND PRESCRIBING THE MANNER IN WHICH SUCH BIDS SHALL BE RECEIVED BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That H. G. McElwee, City tfanager of the City of Paducah, be, and he is hereby authorized, for and on behalf of the said city, to receive bids for the purchase of One (1) Power Mower with 5 foot cutting bar, said mower to be used by the Street Department to out weeds on city property. SECTION 2. In order to carry this resolution into effect, the City Manager is directed to advertise for bids by a notice posted up at the City Hall Door and by inserting notice for the request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Ciun-Democrat, which notice shall be published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids. No bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed by thi resolution for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who shall purchase the machine from the lowest responsible bidder. Bids shall be opened at a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners to be held on February 12th, 1946. SECTION 3. The City shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids, and shall not become legally liable or obligated to purchase the machine advertised for pursuant to this resolution until the acceptance of a bid and the adoption of an ordinance authorizing he execution of a contract for the purchase of said machine. SEC TION 4.
