DEPARTI.'.ENT OF' TILE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY Ip'U :aiEREAS, under the apportionment ordinance adopted in the year 1945 provision was made for the payment of the salaries of thirty-seven (37) employees of the fire department; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable to increase the personnel of said department by retaining those men who temporarily filled the positions of eight (8) regular firemen dnring their period of service in the Armed Forces of the United States; N07J THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COIt'6;ISSIONE S OF THE CITY. OF' PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City 14,anager be, and he is hereby authorized to retain all men now employed in the Fire Department of the City of Paducah so that, as and when the regular firemen return to duty aft service in the Armed Forces, forty-five (45) men shall be regularly 3mployed in said department. The rank of said employees and their salaries, provided said salaries are not changed by the annual apportionment ordinanceshereafter adopted, shall be as follows: RANK NUT6EER OF CMPLOYEES MONTHLY SALARY (1) Chief 1 X245.00 (2) Assistant Chief 1 180.00 (3) Captains 5 170.00 (4) Switchboard Operators (Grade "A") 2 150.00 (5) Switchboard Operators (Grade 139.00 (6) mechanic 1 185.00 (7) Firemen (Grade "A") 31 150.00 (8) Firemen (Grade "B") 3 139.00 SECTION 2. The additional salaries required to be paid to the afores, regular firemen who return to duty during the year 1945 shall be paid out of unused funds appropriated to the Fire Department for said year. SECTION 3. in conflict herewith All ordinances and parts of ordinances/are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. Passed by the i=oard of Commissioners, October 16th, 1945
