HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 1218, No Ordinance Number1218 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE TO THE PADUCAH AIRPORT CORPORATION OF TNO IRACTB OR PARCELS OF LAND Ly7 ADJACENT TO THE LANDS NOW USED AS A CITY AND COUNTY AIRPORT BY 7 PADUCAH AIRPORT CORPORATION, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND '1HE CITY CLERK, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO JOIN 'KITH THE DULY AUTHORIZED OFFICIALS OF 'IIiE COU,,ITY OF MCCRACKEN, STATE OF KENTUCKY, IN THE EXECUTION OF A DEED TO SAID CORPORATION BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for and in consideration of the agreement of the Paducah Airport Corporation to make certain improvements upon the Paducah -McCracken County Airport to order to provide the facilities required by the Civil Aeronautics Authority before said airport can be made available for regularly scheduled airline service, sell and convey to the Paducah Airport Corporation two certain tracts or parcels of land lying adjacent to the lands now used as a city and county airport on U. S. Highway No. 60 in McCracken County, Kentucky, described as follows: (d) Beginning at a point where the South property line of U.S.Highway #60 intersects the East Property Line of a triangular strip of ground owned by H.A. & Edith Barton; thence in an Easterly direction and along the South Property Line of U.6.Highway #60, a distance of 5680 feet more or less to the -&ast Property line of the Fisher School noad; thence in a Southerly direction and along the "est property line of the Fisher School Road to a point 150 feet from and at right angles to U.S.Highway #60; thence in a Westerly direction and along aline, said line being 150 feet from and parallel with U.S.Highway #60, a distance of 5550 feet more or less; thence at right angles and in a Northerly direction 150 feet more or less to the point of beginning. Said tract contains 19.3 Acres more or less. There is excepted from the above tract of ground a triangular piece of property owned by the Rt. Reverend W. J. McClosky, said triangular piece of ground fronts 500 feet mdre or less on the South side of U.S.Highway #60, South and West of the extention of the Catholic or Steel Road. Said tract contains 1.3 Acres more or less. (2) Be inning at a point in the North West corner Of the intersection of the Fisher School Road and the Hinkleville Road; thence in a Westerly direction and along the Northerly line of the Hinkleville noad a distance of 3000 feet more or less to the center of a fork of tdassac Creek; thence in a Northerly direction and along the center line of said fork of Massae Creek to a point 150 feet from and at right angles to the Hinkleville Road; thence in an Easterly direction 150 feet from and parallel with the North line of the Hinkleville Road a distance of 2980 feet more or less to tge 'Nest line of the Fisher School Road; thence in a Southerly direction and along the West line of the Fisher School Road a distance of 150 feet to the point of beginning. Said tract contains 10.3 Acres more or less,° -- - 1219 And the Mayor and City clerk are hereby authorized and empowered, for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, to join with the duly authorized officials of the County of McCracken, State of Kentuc 6 in the execution of a deed of conveyance to the above described property.
