HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 1187, No Ordinance Numberlla u AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING, AND PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINT77MNT OF A DIRECTOR THEREOF, AND IF NECESSARY EMPLOYEES THEREIN", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COM,,IISSIONERS ON JANUARY 6th, 1936, AND WAS AniENDED BY THE BOARD OF COVMISSIONERS ON JUNE 24, 1941 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF CObRIISSIOhTERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SEC T3 ON 1. T -at an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE CAEATTNG THE DEPARM-ENT OF ENGINEERING, AND PROVIDIVG FOR 'M APPOINTLEN'P OF A DIRECTOR THEREOF, AND IF NECESSARY EI,:PLOYLES THEREIN", which was 30"�947 adopted by the foard of Commkssioners on January 6th, 1936, and //'j--0-- A/8 was amended by the Board of Commissioners on June 24, 1941, be and the same is hereby amended so that said ordinance as now amended shall read as follows: "Section 1. That there is hereby created, upon the recommen- dation of the City Manager, a department to be known as the Department of Engineerin„ and there shall be a director of said department who shall be styled City Engineer, whose salary shall I e at the rate of !210.00 per month, together with the further sum o X25.00 per month beginning July lst, 1945, as an allowance for th use of his automobile in connection with the performance of his duties. The City zn_,ineer shall perform such duties as may be required by law and by the City iianager, and by such ordinances as may be adopted from time to time, and shall have complete control and management of all of the engineering and construction work wi hir. the City of Paducah. The City Engin eer as Supervisor of Public Mork of the City of Paducah, shall also serve as an ex -officio member f the City Planning and Zoning Commission, and he shall perform all of the duties which the Supervisor of Public �+orks is required to perform under Section KRS 100.330. There shall also be appointed such employees in the depart- ment of engineeriM as may from time to time be necessary, and the present rates of their pay existing at the'time of the adoption o this ordinance shall continue until further changed by ordinance. Said City Lngineer and employees in said department shall be appointed as provided by law.' The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to transfer from the Continent Fund to the Engineering department the sum of 175.00 for payment of the additional compensation to which the City Lngi eer will be entitled for the remainder of the year 1945 under the provisions of this ordinance." 1189 SECTION 2.
