7,1HERE.AS, on November 14, 1944, the Lexington Rall -
way System, Inc., became the purchaser of a motor bus franchise
in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, crsated pursuant to an
ordinance entitled: "APT ORDINANCE DIRECTING THE CITY KANAGER
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAII, KENIUCKY, VC, SELL A FRANCHISE AUTHORIZING
THE PURCHASER PO TdAINTAIN AND OPERATE .10TOR PASSENGER BUSES
OVER AND UPON THE STREETS, AVENUES AND_ PUBLIC *.7kYS IN THE
CITY OF PADUCAH AND FIXING TIM TERIYS AND CONDITIONS OF THE
ECERCISE OF SABD GRANT", which eras adopted by the zoard of
Commissioners of the City of Paducah on February 1, 1944; and,
.MEREAS, on June 22, 1945, the said LexinGton Rail- _
way System, Inc., sold, assigned and transferred to I:'.ary
Deronda Stewart all of its ri;;ht title and interest in and to
the franchise purchased b -.r it, and a notice of the sale there-
of was thereafter .riven the City of Paducah as required by
Section V of Article II of the aforesaid ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the said ?Bary Deronda Stewart has submitted
to the City of Paducah her written request for its approval
of the sale and transfer of said Aiotor Bus Franchise, and
she has agreed to accept all of the duties and responsibilities
imposed under the provisions of said ordinance for the un-
expired period of said franchise from and after midnight,
June 30th, 1945; and,
.1,HEREAS, the said Prary Deronda Stewart has also
tendered to the City of Paducah a performance bond fn the sum
of Five Thousand 05,000.00) Dollars, together with liability
and indemnity insurance policies as required by the provisions
of Section XII, Article I of said LSotor Bus Franchise Ordinance.
NO'J, THEREFORE, BE IT OilD9INED BY THE TOARD OF
CO1,'%:I5SIONERS OF TIIE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.

7"iat the City of Paducah consents to and approves
the sale and transfer by the Lexington Railway oystem, Inc.,
to P.iary Jeronda Stewart, doing business under the firm name
of the Paducah bud Company, of all of the rights and
privileges granted under the aforesaid ;Rotor Bus Franchise
Ordinance, the said ;nary Deronda Stewart to assume all of
the duties and responsibilities thereunder for the unexpired
period of said franchise from and after midnight of June 30,
1945.
SECTION II
That the City of Paducah does hereby approve the
aforesaid performance bond in the sum of rive Thousand
($5,000.00) -'ollars, to. -ether with the liability and indemnity
insurance policies which have been submitted to the Board of
Commissioners by the said :,:ary Deronda Stantart, the liability
thereunder to be effective beginning at midnight on June
30, 1945.
SECTION III
That the Lexington Railway System, Inc., be released a
discharged from all liability upon its bond in the sum of
Five Thousand 05,000.00) Dollars on account of any claims
arising thereunder from and after midni3ht, June 30, 1945.
SECTION IV
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
