HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 1100, No Resolution Number1100 tai L, A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR .iND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTEam ,lIT.H '.PHI: ILLIN IS FOR AND ON BEHALF OF TRE CITY OF PADUCAH A CONTRACT CENTRAL RAILROAD COMPANY FOR THE RESURFACING OF COREY STREET AND CIRCLE STREET IN SAID CITY, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERI.13 AILD CONDITIO IS • TO BE CONTAINED IN SAID CONTRACT WHEREAS, it is porposed to repair pavement on Coxey Street from the Old Mayfield Road to the .,esterly right-of-way line of th Illinois Central Railroad Companyts property, and Circle St from the Westerly line of the railroad company's eight-of-way to the existing pavement on Caldwell Avenue, Paducah, Kentucky; and, VUEREAS, it has been agreod between the parties hereto that the City will arrange for the construction of bit- ominous roadway on Coxey Street 30 feet in width and approxi- mately 2,690 feet long, and 30 feet in width on Circle Street and approximately 670 feet long, a total of approximately 11,200 square yards of pavement, in accordance with city specifications. NO-.7 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C014MISSIONER OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the I,:ayor and. City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized to sign and execute, for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, an agreement with the Illinois Central Railroad Company which shall be in words and figures as follows, to-wit: "The City will arrange for performance of the work as hereinabove provided and promptly ycpon presentation of bill therefor the Railroad Company hereby agrees to pay the City for the cost of material required in making the re- pairs hereinabove specified, which it is hereby agreed amounts to THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FIFTY WO DOLLARS AND FORTY CENTS ('53,152.40) the-City to assume cost of labor required for the grading and surfacing thereof. "In the performance of the work provided for herein, it is hereby understood that the City is an independ- ent contractor and as such assumes the entire responsibility for the performance of, and payment for, the work and the control of all persons, firms or corporations employed in the performance thereof".
