HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 10, Page 1095, No Ordinance Number1 AN QtDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY I -TANAGER TO ENTER I INTO AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR TIIE PURCHASE OF GASOLI14B AND OIL FROM THE SHELL OIL COMPANY FOR A PERIOD OF FOUR (4) MONTHS FROIL JANUARY 1st, 1945, AND FR ESCRIBING THE TER16 AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE IBADE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMGSISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, I{ENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Tanager be, and he is hereby authorized to enter into and execute with the Shell Oil Company, a contract for the purchase by the City upon its order the gasoline and oil required for all governmental operations during a period of four (4) months from January 1st, 1945, said contract to contain the following terms, conditions and covenants: - "The Company hereby agrees to sell and deliver to the City upon its order the gasoline and motor oil required for all govern- mental operations during a period of four (4) months from January 1st, 1945, at the following prices: Ethyl Gasoline . . . 14Y per gal. X-100 Motor Oil (In Drums) .. 67" " Exclusive of Federal Tax Golden Shell Motor Oil (In Drums) 46� per gal Exclusive of Federal Tax The above prices are, however, subject to furtt.er reduction for quantity purchases, one time, one destination delivery: Less than 25 gallons None 25-60 Gallons 1� per gallon 61-120 112 " It 121-180 If gI/ If If Payment shall be made by the City not later than the to th of each month for the amount of products sold and delivered during the preceding month. - discount of 1% shall be allowed for all oi: purchased during any month if payment is made on or before the 10tl day of the next month. In consideration of the Agreement of the City to Purchase of the Company all of the gasoline and motor oil re- quired for use during the aforesaid period, the Company agrees that in the event of a general advance in the retail price of garoline or motor oil at any time during the aforesaid period, the Company's obligation to sell and deliver gasoline and oil at the aforesaid prices shall remain and continue in full force and effect, but in the event of a decline in the retail price of either of said products, the City shall be given the benefit of the reduction in price." 1096 SECTION 2. As the various departments of the city must be immediately supplied wit- Gasoline and oil for the protection of the public health and safety, an emer3ency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
