That the City of i-aducah, _:entucky, join with the County of I..cCracken, Jtate of KentucLy, in the establishment and maintenance of a city -county health department to be known as ""Phe Paducah -McCracken County Health Department", and one-half of the expense of creating and establishinZ said department shall be paid by the City of Paducah and the other one-half by n'cCracken County. The health department shall be i-overned by a board of heal' composed of five (5) members to be !mown as "The Paducah-I.icrracken County uoard of Health2, one of whom shall either be the mayor or the City Manager of the City, whichever is appointed by the city Legislative body, and one Of' Whom stall be the County Judge, and three of whom shall be licensed physicians residing in i:cCracken County and who shall be appointed by the State .:oard of Health. The physicians appointed to serve on said board shall hold office for a term of two years from the ` date of their appointment, and until their successors are appointed, and all of the members of said 'board shall serve without compensation. 1075 SECTION 2. The Paducah-i.icrracken County card of Health shall appoint a health officer, who shall serve for a term of four years, subject to removal for cause, and may employ such assistant health officers and other employees as are necessary for the work of the department. Said board shall, subject to the approval of the city legislative body and fiscal court, fisc the amount of com- pensation of the health o ficer, the aooistant health officer and of all other persons employed in the department. SECTSOid 3. The Paducah-.,cCrac'.cen County i:oard of Ecalt-h shall have jurisdiction over the entire bounty, inclu<?.inC all towns and cities within the county, and it shall be the duty of said board to enforce the health laws of the state and rules and regulations adopted ty the State .,oard of Health, and to perform all other duties which are imposed b;; law upon county :.boards and departments of health. Said i;oard shall file with the City and County on January 1st of each year a report showing its receipts from every source and all disbursements made by it durinff the precedin; year, and said board shall also file from tiro( to time such other reports as may be required by the city lel;islat' body or by the fiscal court. SECTS01'd 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
