A RESOLUTION GRANTING TO THE LEXINGTON RAILWAY
3YSTEL'., INC., A FRANCHISE TO OPERATE MOTOR PASSENGER
BUSSES OVER AND UPON THE STREETS, AVENUES A::D PUBLIC 'JAYS
IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, IN ACCORDANCE '.TITH

FEBRUARY 1, 1944.
'.A'HEREAS, an Ordinance known as Bus Franchise
ordinance :io. 2", providin.^ for a sale of the Franchise
to operate motor nassen.^er buses over and upon the streets,.
avenues and public ways in the Coty of Paducah, and
fixing the terms and conditions of the exercise of said
;rant, was introduced at a regular, meetin of the Loard
of Commissioners, at its reiular meetin-; January 25,
•1944, and remained on file until February 1, 1944, for
public inspection, and in the completed form in which
it was put upon its final passage, and on February lot
was duly and regularly adopted and enacted by the ward
of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, which sa-d Or-
dinance is of record in the office of the City !:lerk of
Paducah, Kentucky, in Ordinance and Resolution Look No. 10,
page 938; and,
IHEREAS by a Resolutioh of the -card of Commissioners
the City L'.anager was ordered and directed to soil such
Franchise by resolution adopted October 17, 1944, to which
reference is here made, and which said sale directed'the
City !.anager to sell same at public auction on ;;ovember 7,
1944, at the hour of twelve olclocl: noon, after publication
of notice of the time, place and terms of said sale, in five
consecutive issues of the Paducah Sun Democrat, a daily
Newspaper published in Paducah, Kentucky, next prio- to
and including t:e date of.sale; and,
'.7FEREAS, the City tanager, by written report filed
with the =oard of Commissioners on November 8, 19443
reported that he did, on November 7, 1944, at the hour of
t,•:elve o'clock noon, offer said Franchise for sale, after
advertisinn said sale, as required by the Resolution of the
Board of Commissioners, and t hat the Lexington Railway
.3ystem, Inc. bid the sum of Seven Thousand ti'7000.00)
Dollars for said Franchise, and that the said bid of .seven
"housand (';7000.00) Dollars ras the }7iChest and best bid
received for said Franchise; and

`:JifCREAS, by its resolution duly adopted at a meetin,7
of the Loard of Commissioners held ,!overnGor 8, 1954, the
bid of the LoxinLton Railway ;ysteta, Inc., was duly accepted
ord tle said Lexinl-ton nailway Jystem, Inc. was ordered and
directed to pay in full the price bid by it for said Franchise,
to -wit:, the sum of 3even.Thousand (;;7000.00) Dollars, and
to file said acceptance and to pay said fund within five
days after the sale of said Franchise; and,
M-12REAS, on november 11, 1944, the said Lexington
Railway S,stem, Inc. paid to the City of Paducah the sum
of Seven Thouoand (:,7000.00) Dollars, and filed its written
acceptance of said i?ronchise in the form emLodied in the
Resolution of the _card of eortnissioners of the City of
Paducah, adopted ..ovcrrber Ci, 1944; and,

And it further arpearin- that the Lexinton Railway
System was and is the hirhesr and best bidder for said
Franchise, and that its bid was duly and regularly
accepted, and the amount bid for said Franchise has now been
fully paid, and a written acceptance has been filed by the
said Lexington Rsil:�ray :system, Inc.,

OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH:
1. That the Lexin ton Rail,.ay System, Inc., its suc-
cessors and, a,si3ns, be and it is hereby vested with all
of the rights and privileges set forth in 1-otor bus Franchise
':o. 2, adopted by the '-card of Con niscioners of the City of
Paducah, February 1, 1944, subject to a'.1 the terms and
conditions set forth in said Ordinance, and for the 10 year
period provided therein, the said Lexin_-ton Railway System, Inc.,
and its successors and assigns, shall to and is hereby vested
with said ri,,hts, privileges and Franchise set forth in said
rotor Bus Franchise Ordinance Pio. 2, entitled:

OF SAID GRANT;
which ryas introduced by the Board of Commisaionero at a 'regular
meetin, held on January 25th, 1944, and which ordinance was
passed by said board on February 1st, 1944, as said ordinance
appears of record in Ordinance Boos Ilo. 10 at nage 938, in
the office of the Clerk of the City of Paducah, _Kentucky.
