HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 9, Page 94, No Ordinance Numbert - PAGE 94 ADI ORDINANCE GOVERNING THE INSTALLATION AND INSPECTION OF ALL ELECTRIC 'SIRING AND APPLIANCES WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENT CKY. BE IT ORDAINED BY I HE BOARD OF COP;:IJI"SIONL'RS OF THE CI OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; i SECTION 1. All electric wiring and appliances hereinafter installed in or attached to any building or structure, within the corporate limits of this city, s, --all be installed in accordance with the rules, regulations and requirements of the National Electrical Code and the inspection authority having jurisdiction. Any and all electric wiring hereafter �! installed in any building or structure, other than in one or two-family k` llings within the corporate limits, shall, if such airing is to carry a current exceeding fifty volts, be installed in iron conduits, metal molding or armored'cable, installed in such a manner.as to comply with the requirements if the above mentioned code. All flexible cords used in connection with iron conduits, metal molding or armored cable wiring, shall be approved portable cords'. All materials, flexible cords, fittings or devices shall be. of an approved type. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to conceal electric wiring until after said wiring shall have been inspected by the Electrical Inspector to be designated by the City and a certificate hof approval issued. It shall be unlawful for any electric, light or power company to connect with, i for furnish current to any electric installation within the corporate limits of the city, until after such electric installation shall have been inspected by said electrical inspector and a certificate of Iapproval and acceptance issued. . All wiring shall be maintained in accordance with the code in effect at the time such wiring was installed, and in the event of remodeling all new wiring shall be installed inacccordance with this ordinance. In the event service has been diseon���ppSeT for any reason Iwhatsoever, a certificate of inspection must be secured before the .service is reconnected; SECTION 2.
