CONTINGENT FUND.

SECTION 1.
The Commissioner of Public Safety is hereby authorized
and empowered to make temporary employment of four men to serve in
the Fire Department as extra firemen and to serve at the pleasure
and under the control and direction of the Commissioner of Public
Safety and to receive the same compensation as other like employees
in the 'sire Department of the sa=ne rahk and grade for the services
rendered.
SECTION 2.
On account of the fact that it is necessary that said
employees be immediately put to ^ork in said department, and because
of the .fact that there is not sufficient funds appropriated to the
Fire Department for the current year to take care of the salary of
such employees, the compensation of said four extra firemen shall
be charged to and paid out of the contingent fund.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall take effect from and after its
passage:
