HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 9, Page 267, No Ordinance NumberPage 267 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND OPrNING 19TH STRFFT FROM Dl'f:Y STPFFT TO JFFFFFSON STP.FFT IN THF CITY OF PALTiCAH, KENTUCKY. !'-R-IFREAS, the City of Paducah is the owner of a strip of ground between Broad:,ray Street ^nd Jefferson Street, part of which was conveyed to the City of Paducah by Roy Steuart and his ^ife on the 19th day pf June, 1922, and fronting 50 feet on the North side of Broadway, and gnother strip 60 feet in width fronting on the South side of Jefferson Street ^nd im^iediately back of and abutting said property lying on the North side of Broadway so that said strip of ground consists of a strip 50 feet wide on the Broadway side and 60 feet wide on the Jefferson Street side, and is all the property of the City of Pac+ucah, and said property is so laid off as to be opposite to the ,junction of 19th Stre=t on the Fouth side of Brondway, rnd it is desired that said nron<rty be used as a street for the convenience and occomodation.of the public, NO!`?, TIPTFFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY SHF BO!•RD OF COJ:?P.'T' STOWFRS OF TIF' CITY OF PAT'IJCAH, xIR'TUCKY: SECTION 1. That 19th Street, extending from Brogdzray Street to Jefferson Street in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be, and the same is hereby established and opened., and is described as follows, to -wit; Being a strip of ground fronting 50 feet on the North side of Broadway and extending back towards Jefferson Street, and being 60 feet in width on the South side of Jefferson Street and consisting of the following lescribed tracts of land, to -wit: Being Lot'7-17'18 in Block ;/11 of the Fountnin Park Addition to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, fronting 50 feet on the North side of Broadway -and extending back a uniform width and at right angles to Brondway, a distance dT 165 ft. 9 in, to a Dii.blic alley 15 feet in width, and being the property conveyed to the City of'Paducah by Roy Stewart and his wife, Catherine Step ­ rt, June 9th, 192^ by deed recorded in Deed Book No.139, page 110, ','cCracken County Court Clerk's office: and also Lot No:l in Block No.l, Fountain Park Addition to the City of Paducah, fronting 50 fe,t on the South side of Jefferson Street and running back a uniform width at right angles to Jefferson Street towards Broadway 165 ft. 9 in, to an alley; and also a strip of ground 19 feet wide off of the adjoining lot and on the :lest side of said Lot #1 aforesaid, so as to make said strip of ground 60 feet in width. But said 10 foot strip extends a uniform width and tontiguous and adjacent to said Lot #1 the entire length of said Lot #1 to said public alley between Broadway and Jefferson Streets. SECTION 2. Upon the adoption and publication of this ordinance said described lots and tracts of land shall thereupon become and be a public dedicated street ­,ithin the City of Paducah and known as 19th Street between BrosdwAy nn-' J=rferson Streets; passage.
