WH'Er-'AS, the City of Paducah, and the Kentucky Utilities
Company have by prolonged negotiations arrived at a basis of
settlement of: city lightin and of rates for residential and com-
mercial lid,'. ting and. ;o;.rer purposes, and for the installation and
equipment of other city lights, which is set forth in a contract
that is proposed to be executed by and between the Kentucky Utilitie
Company and. the City of Paducah, Kentucky, ab ich settlement is
deemed to be to the advantage of the people of the City of Paducah,
and

SECTION 1.
That the I,_ayor be, and he is hereby authorized,- in-
structed and empos;rered to ei„n a contract in duplicate r.,ith the
Kentucky Utilities Company referred to in,the option and preamble
Of this resolution for andon behalf of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, and to cause to be affixed thereto the seal cif said city.
SECTION 2.
This resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption by the Board of Commissioners.
