ORDINANCE NO. 2002-1- 6111-6,5—
AN ORDINANCE ACCCEPTING THE BID OF HEFLIN INC. FOR
DEMOLITION OF THE McCARTNEY BUILDING AT 216 SOUTH SECOND
STREET, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR
SAME
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accepts the bid of Heflin Inc. in
the amount of $24,999.00 for demolition of the McCartney Building at 216 South Second
Street, said bid being in substantial compliance with the bid specifications, advertisement
for bids, and as contained in the bid of Heflin Inc. of January 2, 2002.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract
with Heflin Inc. for demolition in Section 1 above, according to the specifications, bid
proposal and all contract documents heretofore approved and incorporated in the bid.
SECTION 3. This expenditure shall be charged to Account No. 040-
3315-532-2307 PF 0023.
SECTION 4. In order to not hamper the construction schedule in this
area, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance will become effective
immediately with one reading.
