WHEREAS, loud and unnecessary noises in the immediate neighborhood of hospitals and churches in the City of Paducah, %entucky, have proven annoying and hurtful 'to the use, enjoyment and general welfare of such institutions and the public, and same are hereby declared to be and constitute a public nuisance; THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GMT'RA L COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF P_ DUC .H, �NTUCLf: . SECTION:1- DEFINITION : A Quiet Zone within the meaning of this Ordinance is defined as a certain section or block within said City, which'shall be kept free from any and all loud or unnecessary noises of every;o,,4ar`a,rter. Y SECTION 2 - ZONES •::`` r ''� a ' The following Quiet Zones as herein defined are hereby established in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, Viz: :-HOSPITALS, EVERY DAY (1) Broadway and Jefferson Streets from 14th to 16th Streets, being the Streets on either side of the Illinois Central Hospital. (2) North 4th Street and Clay Street on the YJest and North sides of Riverside Hospital, being the Streets on either side of said hospital. : CHURCHES, ON SUNDAYS (1) One block on either side facing or bounding on any street, of every church edifice or building in said City during each Sunday only. SECTION 3 It shall be the duty of every person, firm or corporation, gunning, driving or operating any street car, motor car or other vehicle, to observe the regulations herein provided for the protection of each of the Quiet Zones hereinabove described and established. SECTION 4 The use of any cutout on any motor vehicle, or the sounding of any horn, gong or other signal by street care or motor vehicles of every character, except on the mildest and quietest manner at the inter- section of streets, shall be deemed an unnecessary noise within the meaning of this ordinance; and the specific mention of same shall not be construed to mean the exclusion of any other violations hereof. No- Ordinances SECTION 5 Any violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed a misdemeanor, and any person, firm or corporation Guilty of such violation shall be fined not less than �ilO.00 nor more than -j50.00 for each offense. : SECTION 6 This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage, approval and publication.
