AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE BUSINESS AND LICENSING OF 1,'()

BE IT ORDIINED 13Y THE GENER,kL COUNCI-L OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1.
- It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the
business or profession of fortune telling, clairvoyancy, palmistry o:
phrenology in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, without first having
made application to the General Council of said City for license so
to do. Before granting any such licenses, the said General Council
shall refer the application to an appropriate committee for investi-
gation of the character, business integrity and standing of such
applicant, and such application shall first be referred to the Chief
of Police of said City, who,'after due investigation, shall either
approve or disapprove of such application, whereupon said Committee
shall report the result of its investigation, with its recommendatio
ii to the Gene ral_gouncil..
SECTION 2.
No licenses hereinabove provided for shall be Srante&

to any person'who has not applied therefor before the General Council,
as hereinabove provided, and whose application has not been approved 1�
by said General Council.
°ECTION 3.
The license fee for any business or profession herein
provided for, shall be y$10.00 per day, and no one other than the
applicant approved, as hereinabove provided, shall be permitted to

engage in such business or profession in the City of Paducah, Ky.
jl SECTION 4.
Any violations of the provisions of this ordinance,
shall be deemed a misdemeanor, and the person or persons so violating

shall be subject to a fine of not less than ;$25.00, or more than
,.;$50.00 for each offense, and each day shall be considered a separate
;offense.
SECTION 5.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
II are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from its passage, approval and publication.
